School establishment

Ø      The school was established in JANUARY 1987 by the then principal Mr. JL JEKUBENI and the school was officially opened and unveiled by the then MEC for housing, Mr. DAN MOFOKENG on the 08^th October 1994.

Ø      I; GM .Ngogodo the principal of the above mentioned institution wish to officially make this speech on behalf of the School Governing Body, Educators, Learners and the community at large.  Mpontsheng Secondary School was established in 1987 under the leadership of Mr. Jekubeni. At the end of 1996 Mr. Jekubeni took the Severance Package and Mr. Ngogodo took over as a principal of the school.

There were number of challenges that I encountered when I took over as head master; but; unfortunately they were resolved. The academic results of the school turn to fluctuate on number of occasions, nevertheless in 2003 we obtained 69% pass rate. These results were good because educators were committed and willingly wish to make a difference. But immediately after that; We dropped because of lack of commitment and absenteeism on the part of the educators. As a school; we wish to address them this year and improve the lives of our learners.

The support that we receive from the District and other related structures like the EAZ will make us realize our objectives and improve the academic results of the school. The T.V. set supplied by EAZ and Computer Centre opened by Gauteng Department of Education will enhance and facilitate the teaching and learning in our school. In 2006, we wish to make commit ourselves to our job in order to ensure that we are all winners. I wish the S.G.B. Educators and the learners of Mpontsheng Secondary School a prosperous and a successful year. Thank you
